We invite you to escape from the everyday with friends or family to our Hunter Valley accommodation on 120 acre bushland setting. We are located in Mount View – 10 minutes from Pokolbin wineries - where the rural vistas and meandering road  harks back to another time; a quieter, more tranquil time.

As you build your fire and enjoy the preparation of your evening meal you'll find yourself enjoying simplicity of these activities.  You'll appreciate the peace and tranquility of our country location (minutes to boutique wineries and great wines!).  And as you take the time to relax and reconnect and you'll find when it comes time to return home you'll be  refreshed from your short break with us.

Dining Experiences:

Then there's the food lovers side to the Valley - from cafes featuring regional produce, olive,
cheese, boutique beer, and  chocolate samples along side renowned restaurants where the food itself is just one ingredient in the total dining experience - let us help with suggestions. Booking at least a week prior to arrival is recommended. See www.winecountry.com.au for the Valley's best selection.   And very soon,  Mount View will be welcoming Robert Molines of “Robert's” fame when he opens his new bistro in August 2008.

Of course,  your cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and barbecue so you can enjoy a feast of your own making accompanied by a bottle or two from the day's purchases.

If you are dining out and don't want to drive, we also offer a return restaurant transfer
service from $25 per person return. (minimum fees may apply).  These services are available exclusively for our guests ensuring you get the very best experience during your Hunter Valley Wine Country stay.

Top of the Range:

Of course, no visit is complete without taking the "Top of the Range" road - Mount View Road -
and seeing for yourself how Wine Country use to be.  Take the time to drink in the views of this
quiet alternative in the Valley. From rural scenes; dairy and vines, to extravagant vistas of mountain ranges and verdant valleys, Mount View Road leads you from Wollombi to Pokolbin (or vice versa). Take a look at www.mountview.biz for full details of our special award winning cellar doors.

Events/Activities:

There's always something happening in Hunter Valley Wine Country - be it a major Australian or international performer holding a concert in the vines, a festival based around the Harvest,  local markets, long lunches or modern art exhibits such as Sculpture in the Vines ... Visit www.winecountry.com.au for event details. Ask about subscribing to our newsletter to keep you informed!

The Hunter Valley also boasts some spectacular golf courses, hot air ballooning, sky diving, horse riding, cooking schools, gardens,  bushwalking ( part of the Great North Walk follows the ridge line of the Mount View Range) ......  You're spoilt for choice.

Wildlife:

Sit on the balcony and take it easy while count the different bird species (we can provide a list) as they pass your cabin.

Watch the antics of the new born wallaroos in the early hours, sit quietly and enjoy the company of our timid wallabies as they come in for an afternoon snack.

Listen to the frogs and cicadas,  crickets and geckos as evening comes.

And at night, take a moment to look up.  There's nothing like a clear bright country night sky, the sounds of silence, the aroma of a wood burning fire and a little glass of something warming to aid slumber.
